Bosch refrigeration is German engineering on a precise sealed-system platform.
Bosch 800 Series, 500 Series, and Benchmark refrigerators run a tighter sealed-system tolerance than most mainstream brands, with the B36CT and B30IB built-in columns sharing internals across the Bosch family. The control electronics are sensitive to voltage transients, and the dispenser solenoid platform behaves differently than a Whirlpool or GE residential unit. We are an independent fridge-only shop and we service Bosch every week.
Common Bosch issues we see
- Compressor relay aging on 800 Series counter-depth units. The compressor short-cycles or fails to start, the cabinet warms over a 24-hour window.
- Control-board firmware glitches on Benchmark. Temperature alarms cycle without cause, the display goes dark intermittently, the cooling cycle restarts on its own.
- Evaporator-fan motor wear on B36CT and B30IB columns. Cold air stops moving from the evaporator into the cabinet, frost builds on the rear panel, the column drifts warm.
- Dispenser solenoid faults on French-door 800 Series. The water pad clicks but no water flows, or the line drips behind the door panel.
- Defrost-control board failures on built-in columns. The evaporator ices over, airflow chokes, and the column drifts warm even with the compressor running.
- Door-switch faults on bottom-freezer units. The interior light stays on, defrost cycles drift, the unit overworks to hold setpoint.

Visit starts with a $65 in-home diagnosis, waived if you authorize the repair. We arrive with OEM parts on the truck for the common Bosch failures — compressor relays, control boards, evaporator fans, dispenser solenoids, door switches. You get a written quote before any work begins, with parts and labor under a 3-month warranty (6 to 12 months on compressor and sealed-system work).
