Thermador Freedom Collection is column refrigeration. The repair is precision sealed-system work.

Thermador Freedom columns — T18, T24, T30, T36 — are panel-ready, run independent sealed systems per column, and rely on PerfectFresh and PerfectChill drawer thermistors that do not behave like standard residential sensors. Pulling a T36 column forward without damaging the custom cabinet face is a careful job, and the column platform shares Bosch-family internals on the control side. We are an independent fridge-only shop and we service Thermador every week.

Common Thermador issues we see

  • PerfectFresh and PerfectChill drawer thermistor failures on Freedom columns. The drawer drifts warm or cold, the display flags a fault, and the unit cycles defrost out of sequence.
  • Defrost-control board failures on T18 and T24 columns. The evaporator ices over, airflow chokes, and the column drifts warm even with the compressor running.
  • Dispenser solenoid faults on Professional series French-door. The water pad clicks but no water flows, or the line drips behind the door panel.
  • Compressor relay aging on 10+ year columns. The compressor short-cycles or fails to start, the cabinet warms slowly across a full day.
  • Evaporator-fan motor wear on T36 freezer columns. Cold air does not move from the evaporator into the cabinet, frost builds on the rear panel.
  • Control-board firmware glitches on Professional series. Temperature alarms cycle on without a real fault, the display goes dark intermittently.

Visit starts with a $65 in-home diagnosis, waived if you authorize the repair. We arrive with OEM parts on the truck for the common Thermador failures — drawer thermistors, defrost boards, dispenser solenoids, evaporator fans, door switches. You get a written quote before any work begins, with parts and labor under a 3-month warranty (6 to 12 months on compressor and sealed-system work).
